I have been trying for 5 months & today I finally got a picture of my family...all 4 of us! We were all dressed & ready for Church so I said today is the day! Clara Mae looked so pretty in her Christening gown & Brody was lookin' as cute as ever so, here it is!!! I also threw in one of Clara & Mommy & Clara & Mimi!

When I moved to Dallas and met Jay I always told him I have 2 major fears: 1. Falling/Driving off the high 5 in Dallas and 2. Jay having a construction accident! How could I have ever known that my 2nd fear would become all to real! Today marks 4 years since Jay had his accident. I will NEVER forget that day. Did I get a phone call...no. Had people been trying to call me YES! Why did I not answer my phone? Well I had just gotten my first job in the teaching field and I wouldn't dare keep my ringer on! What did I get...I got my Principal walking briskly down the hall to tell me of the news. She was so very sweet and compassionate. She put her arms around me as we walked down the hall and said "Abbie you need to go back to your room and call your mom, Jay has been in a serious construction accident!" "NOOOOOO!" I finally talked to my mom and she said wait for me...DO NOT DRIVE TO THE HOSPITAL BY YOURSELF! Wait I did...it was the longest hour and a half of my life! By the time I got to the hospital everyone was already there except for the few people that had a long drive. During my time waiting I found out that my sweet brother was actually the person that got the first call about Jay. He is not only my brother, but he and Jay have been very good friends for as long as I can remember. Once we got to the hospital I found my way to the waiting and I remember everyone looking at me as I walked through the door. Up to this point I was in shock about it all and had not done much crying. My brother was facing the window when I got there and then he turned to look at me and I made my way to him and he gave me the biggest hug on earth and I just lost it. That was it, all the tears started flowing. Soon after the Dr came to talk to us. He said he is was in very critical condition and he most likely will not make it. Once up stairs I was called back to the Neuro ICU. Jay had just been wheeled in and they were messing with him and things were beeping and all sorts of crazy things. One of the nurses said Mrs Williams you have some decisions to make and forms to fill out.
What forms and decisions...I am only 26 and he is only 29 this is not happening!
"Mrs. Williams since you are married you have medical power of attorney and you are in charge of making ALL decision regarding your husband and his care." "Please sign here!" Not sure of what all I signed but I remember the question..."Do you want us to save your husband's life at all costs in the event he crashes?" UM HELL YES I DO!
"We have to be very honest...your husband is dying and you should think about making funeral arrangements!" "But sign here and we will do anything we can to save his life should he crash." "Geez, thanks for doing your job!"
Ok that is done, now back to the waiting room! The hospital had a hotel in it but no rooms were open that night, or the next night(I think day 3 we got a room)! We spent the night in the waiting room! No sleep! Waiting...then it was 3am and I got a little shake on my foot. The sweet nurse was so quiet so he wouldn't wake anyone else and he asked if I would like to see Jay. Of course I did and I just looked at him and cried and cried! Besides my hug earlier that was the first time I broke down and cried and I mean really cried. What I was looking at was something no one should ever see. Eyes black and blue and yellow and green and the size of golf balls, a broken arm, a belly cut open from breast bone to pubic bone with a medical vacuum sucking out blood (let's not forget this was due to the grade 4 liver laceration), a swollen head with a "bolt" sticking out of it , some tubes here and there, and a breathing tube!

Today, 4 years later I feel very blessed to have my husband by my side; in good times and bad! We are also blessed to have 2 of the most beautiful babies in the world! I have no pictures to post of Jay in his coma, I thought about taking pictures but those images are in my memory like a picture. What I do have a picture of is us on Jay's first outing from the rehab hospital and us our first wedding anniversary!

Clara Mae Williams

I am a little behind on blogging & since the last post we have had a baby & she turned a week old...so I will just include all things Clara instead of doing 2 separate posts!

Clara Mae Williams was born November 9, 2010! She was 6lbs 12oz (2oz bigger than Brody) & 18 inches (an inch shorter than Brody)! Brody & Clara are 17 months apart and I have to say Brody does not seem to care one way or the other about her being here! He tries to get in her bouncy chair when she is not in it & sometimes he will think about touching her just to see what we will say! He has been such a good boy especially since his world changed so much!

This past Tuesday we took Clara for her one week weight check & she was 6lbs 13oz (she left the hospital @ 6lbs 9oz) & 19 inches! She is growing like a weed already! She is such a good baby & she eats 3 oz every 3 1/2-4 hours. No complaints here! She also turned a week old on Tuesday!

Now for the good part...Here are some pictures from the hospital & once we got home & of course some of her at a week old!
We also want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I don't know about yall but I am ready for some Turkey!

We have been doing so much and I am just now getting around to posting pictures like I said I would way back in the summer! What have we been up too...too much! We went to a Cowboys game (suggestion: don't try that at 7-8 months pregnant)! We have been getting ready for baby Clara, we have been to a pumpkin patch and Jay planned and pulled off a Surprise Party for my 30th Birthday! I can't believe he did that, he did have help and does not take all the credit but I have been told it was his idea all the way! Way to go Babe! I was so VERY Surprised and when everyone yelled "Surprise" it kinda scared Brody a little bit. He jumped and didn't know what to think, but he finally warmed up. So now for the important stuff, some (tons) of pictures for your enjoyment. Tomorrow is my real Birthday and then we can focus on Clara coming to join our family! Can't wait! We are about a month away!

2 months from today we will get to meet Miss Clara! I am so dang excited. I think alot of it has to do with the fact that me, Mimi, Katie, and her other grandmother keep buying cute stuff for her to wear and I can't wait to see it on her. That will be the fun part...all the outfits! So far I have not done ONE thing in her room. We had to order a new crib for Brody so when that comes in I guess I will get the ball rolling on her room! And I have not one single picture to put with this post! :) I will try to get some pictures of Brody in his Aggie/Red Raider gear and Cowboy's gear and put that up soon. It has been a long time since I updated the blog and a lot of people gave me some grief about it over the past weekend.
The background I found is called Clara so I had to pick it and it's red and white with some yellow, but if she likes red and white that will be fine with me! Go Red Raiders! On that note YEA for football season, however, I think I am gonna miss Mike and don't hold out much hope for the Red Raiders this season. Maybe they will surprise me. Speaking of Clara at my last visit we scheduled my C-Section so as of now her birthday is set for Nov. 9, 2010! THREE months from TODAY! I've been so bad about taking pictures this summer but I did get a new smart phone that takes pretty good pictures...
The other day I went to get my hair done and Brody got his first haircut! I did manage 2 pictures of that, he could have cared less about getting a haircut but I know that will all change one day! And finally to all my teacher friends out there enjoy they last days of summer school is right around the corner!

BRODY HUTSON

Kelly's Korner is doing Show us your life Friday-Baby Names or Future Kid Names!

When I was in college I had to take a class called Understanding Death and Dying (Gross) and we had to do a family tree. I discovered that my dad's grandfather's name was Brodie and I LOVED IT! I am Abb"ie" so I decided to change it to "Y". I knew right then that my first baby boy would be Brody and my future husband would just have to deal with it! When Jay and I went to NYC the summer before I got pregnant we stayed on the HUDSON river and we both liked it and decided that if we have a boy it would be Brody Hudson we like the way it sounded...it just all flowed! As you can see from the title of the post there is one letter different, when I told my mom about the name she said well Grandmom's maiden name is HUTSON. We thought what the heck people in Texas will pronounce it the same wether it is a "t" or "d"! So now we have a sweet little Brody Hutson who will be 1 in June!

As far as girl names go...we have not discussed this much at all, but we know we will want to look into family names when the time comes! I am excited to look at all the other girl names people have used...before we found out we were having a boy we were having a hard time with girl names! I think girl names are so much harder than boy names!

I don't care who you are, but one of the greatest sounds in the world is to hear your baby laugh! On Friday night, with a simple toung click I had Brody laughing so hard. Of course, by the time I decided to get the video camera he was about done! Not to worry...I did get a little bit of it on video. The 2nd video is one I took while he was playing with his new toy. He "thinks" he is the best singer in the world...and how could I object to that! :)

9 Months

Brody turned 9 months yesterday! At his visit he weighed 17.2lbs and 27 3/4 inches. Dr. Frank said he is growing well and his top FOUR teeth have broken through the skin, but have not come all the way in yet...that explains alot from this end! Everyone always tells us how happy Brody seems all the time and while for the most part it is ture, he does throw a fit every now and again. I just happened to snap the pictures at the right time so the first 2 are him in the middle of a fit! Jay and I think it is quite funny when he does it because all he wants is for someone to pick him up...ROTTEN! But we love him that way!

Snow Day!

OMG! Snow Day!
So when Jay left the house this morning (4:45ish) there was no snow and by the time Brody and I got up (6:15ish) there was! We did what we usually do in the mornings and there was no news of school closing. So I left at 7 like normal to drop Brody off at Brandy's. I got there at the same time as my friend Stephanie, so we left and I followed her to school. We did have to make a stop for some breakfast :) So while we were driving we get the call that school was on a 2 hour delay. We decided just go go ahead and go because we were already half way there. So we get there and to my surprise the parking lot was not as bare as I had expected. So we are there waiting till 10am when the kids were supposed to arrive...then we get the announcement that school was closed and to go home. The roads are supposed to ice tonight so we will see about tomorrow! Of course with the day off I had a list of things to do around the house, but I keep getting side tracked!

There Really are No Words...Well Not to Many

This post is over due by a few days, but here it is. Truth be told I couldn't decide if I really wanted to say anything about it or not. I didn't get to post it on Saturday like I had planned because my baby brother got married and we were out of town. I guess the title of this post should really be January 30, 2007. I am not going to go into detail because most of you that read this know the story. Today as I sit here and type this I have a big smile on my face because of all that has happened since that day! I am thankful for my Husband, for my Sweet Baby Boy, for my family and of course for Lucy. People always ask why I did not take any pictures of him hooked up to machines and tubes. I just say that had EVERY SINGLE DOCTOR been RIGHT that day, that is not an image I want in a picture (I have it in my head daily). I do have some pictures after he woke up and they day he got to go out for his 1st outing! That is all...no more, no less and I am fine with that.

Baby B is 7 months

I know I am a little late on this post. Brody turned 7 months on the 2nd! And guess what? He has 2 teeth! The first one came in the week before Christmas and the 2nd on the week during Christmas. Of course I never knew he was cutting a tooth because he did not show any of the normal signs! He did come down with a very bad cold last week. He had a temp of 102! YIKES! Dr just said that it was the worst case cold and to watch him for breathing problems. He was also put on an antibotic because the Dr anticipated he could/would get an ear infection. So we are finishing up with that and I am slowly starting see him get better day by day! So here are the 7 month photos! Happy New Year everyone!

Well we survived Brody's first Christmas! It was a fun day, but I did not get many pictures because the little guy woke up on Christmas morning with a dang cold! We have been fighting it since! Not fun! I did manage a few pictures on Christmas Eve with the cousins and as a family we managed a family shot! My sister-in-law took that photo with her camera so I don't have it to post! Anyway here are the few pictures I did get from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! I also managed to get a few pictures of some of the toys from "Santa"! How many toys can one boy need?! Here Comes Santa Clause, Here Comes Santa Clause

This morning I decided to take Brody to see Santa! I was feeling a little guilty since I had not taken him yet...guilt because it is his first Christmas and we still had not made it to see the Big Guy! So we arrived at about 9:50 and they opened the doors to Santa at 10:00. We did not have to wait too long and Brody did great! He of course kept all the people in line in front and behind us entertained! He was showing off big time talking, eating his foot and just being Brody! Santa and his Elf said Brody was one the most beautiful babies they had ever seen...so if Santa says so it must be true, right?! Here is the Santa picture what a show off!

Brody turned 6 months today and boy did we have a big day! It started off snowing and then it was on to get some shots. He ended up getting 6 shots this time because the Doctor wanted him to have the flu shot! He was very brave and hardly even made a peep! He did whimper a little but I gave him a paci and kissed his cheek and he had stopped crying before she even finished giving him the shots. He is growing nice and long...26 inches and Dr Frank said we need to start "fattening" him up. He weighed in at a whopping 14lbs 9oz! So we are on to 3 meals a day with cereal and bottles! As I've said many times, I guess we just have a lean baby on our hands (which surprises me a lot)! She even told me he can start eating "big" people food. Things that are soft like mashed potatoes and peas and such. So now begins a new phase of Baby B's life! We will see how this goes!

I meant to put this post up a while ago, and I forgot. Now that Kelly is doing Show us your life-Fall Decorations I thought this would get me motivated! So here are the Fall Decor photos and I had to add in the cutest pumpkin of them all! I have gotten all of my decorations at Hobby Lobby over the years and being that I have an October Birthday my sister-in-law and mother-in-law get me a lot of decorations from there! They always have the items on sale. I was just in there the other day and I noticed that they have already put some of the Christmas decorations on sale! CRAZY! My Halloween Village came from Michael's and they too are always marked at least 30% off. Come to think of it...I don't think I have paid full price for any of my fall decorations, Christmas, however is another story but we will save that for another day. I must say I LOVE to decorate and it has been so fun this year having Brody to decorate for! I can't wait till Christmas!

I was hoping that I would NEVER have to write this post, but I guess that is what I get for saying never! Brody has officially become a thumb sucker!!! It drives me crazy because I know it is going to be such a hard habbit to break! When I catch him doing it I pull his thumb out of his mouth and pop in his paci. Today I was cleaning his bottles and when I walked into the living room this is what I found...my sweet baby sucking his thumb! Oh well, to each his own I guess!

Baby B is 4 Months and it is October!

I waited a few days to put up this post because I wanted to be able to include his stats! We went for 4 month shots today and he was such a good boy! He didn't cry on the first stick, but did on the 2nd and 3rd! He was fine as soon as I picked him up and got him dressed! They usually don't rush us, but we were rushed out of a "side" door pretty quickly because they did not want me to walk through the waiting room with Brody! They said they have seen TON of H1N1 cases and didn't want to take any chances with Brody since he can't get any kind of flu shot till he is 6 months old!
Anyway looks like Baby B is living up to his nickname around here of "Daddy Long Legs"! He was 25.25 inches and weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 7.5oz! Dr Frank assured me he is healthy and growing at a normal rate for his age! She also said that developmentally he is doing well too! He can roll from front to back, according to her he had "great" head control, when on his back he rolls from side to side, he talks ALOT, and last week he found his feet and his tong! Dr Frank also went on to say that since he moves non stop that has alot to do with his weight! Let me tell you he never stops kicking those legs unless he is asleep and he will sometimes kick then too! He did not disappoint any one in the office as he was flirting and smiling with all the ladies.
I love the month of October...yes one reason is because it is my birthday month but also because fall has officially arrived and I get to decorate with pumpkins! I am in the process of putting out all my Halloween Decor and I will up date with pictures of that later. And because I love October so much I could not resist dressing Brody in a pair of his Halloween P.J.'s for his 4 month pictures!

Brody started rolling over the other day at Miss Brandy's house. I had to see for myself as I did not believe her at first. Sure enough he did and I was able to get it on video...finally! I have been trying all week! He is such a big boy and he is growing so fast! Jay has been in Colorado Elk hunting and he will be so surprised to see that Baby B can now roll over! Baby B is 3 months old now! This post was due on the 2nd, but work has been crazy so I'm just now getting around to it! I do not know how much Brody weighs or how long he is because he does not go to the Dr until he is 4 months old! Check Back!
I must say the past few weeks have been a little rough...work started back, Brody went to day care, and let me just say that going back to work is the hardest thing I have ever done! We talked about it all summer long and we decided that for us to be able to live the life we are used to that it was the best thing. Also, I got a new student this year and I really wanted to be there to help guide her. For those of you who may not know, I teach children with Autism/Behavior Disorders and Speech Disorders! I never thought that going back to work would be so hard...one I am SO out of shape (not good), two I miss Baby B so very much all day and three well let me just pose this question to you all...have you ever had to dodge a flying stapler because it was hurled at your head? I did! Sometimes I wish I could stay at home and not worry about flying staplers, or shoes or whatever and then I just take a moment to realize that I AM good at my job and I LOVE my job! Being a mommy is hard but being a mommy who teaches is very hard and I wouldn't change a thing! Hope you all have a good week and here are the 3 month photos!

I think this picture is really cool. The people that took Brody's newborn pictures in the hospital came out to the house when he was 1 month old and took some pictures of him. They got some really good shots but wanted me to pay ALOT of money for them...we decided that daycare expenses were at the top of the list. However they do give the family one free 8x10 and this is the one we picked. Now I just need to find a place in the house for it!

Brody is now 2 months! We took him for shots today and he did very well. He now weighs 9lbs 10oz and is 22 inches! Here are some 2 month pictures we took.

Sure is! Brody started smiling a couple of weeks ago but now is doing it on a much regular basis. This morning we tried our crib for a morning nap. I heard some noises and I walked in to find him smiling and cooing at his mobile. I was able to get a little video of him smiling! We got this video camera for Christmas and I am still learning how to use it. The video is about 1min 11sec but you only need to watch the first 20-30 seconds to get the smile (never mind my voice in the background...UGG)! So here goes...I hope this short video works!

Here are a bunch of pictures I've been meaning to post but just didn't get around to it until now! We went to Mimi and Papa's for the weekend. Brody and I left on Thursday afternoon and Jay came after he got off work on Saturday afternoon! Brody turned 1 month on Thursday and he is still a little peanut! He is getting longer by the day!

Also, in Paris there is the cutest baby store called Paris Baby! They have all sorts of stuff for babies and they can even make little onsies. I have had plenty made for Brody and for gifts. Here are some pictures of some of the things they have done for me. For the 4th of July I had them make up 2 onsies for Brody because I couldn't decide what I liked so he wore on on the 3rd of July and one on the 4th of July. If you can think it up then most likely they can do it and if you don't have a creative mind like me they will design something for you! Nothing Like a Rainy Day

After many days in a row of 100 degree heat we have a break today! A "cool" front blew in last night and brought cooler temps and a nice little thunder storm! Right now it is raining, thundering, and lightning. The current temp is 79 and the high for today is only going to be 94! YEA! Before Baby B arrived these were my favorite days...you all know what I'm talking about. All you want to do is stay in bed! Now things have changed and chores have to be done! Here are some pictures I captured of the rain, a sleeping dog and a very full and content Baby Brody! While everyone is sleeping so peacefully I'm off to catch up on some chores and then hope to grap a little cat nap before the 1pm feeding rolls around!

We have decided that Brody is Lucy's baby! Every time he cries or makes a noise or anything she is right there being her usual nosey self getting in on all the action! She even wakes up for the 1:30am feeding and 5:30am feeding. She comes into the room and sits right beside the bed until he finishes his bottle and goes back to sleep. She then goes back to her little place and sleeps until we get up! She is such a good dog and we are excited that one day she will have a playmate! Here are a couple of pictures I was able to get of Lucy and HER Baby! And one of Baby B really mad at mommy...

Our Little Peanut is now 2 weeks old! How time does fly! Brody eats every 4 hours and is now eating 3oz every feeding! YEA! He goes back to the doctor on Monday and I am hoping that he has gained some weight so he start fitting into his 0-3 month clothes instead of Preemie clothes. Who would have thought that a child of Jay's would only be 6lbs 10.5oz at birth...not me!

Not long now! Baby Brody will be here very soon and I finally finished decorating his room(pictures to follow)! I am so excited to have it all done. I have never considered my self an interior decorator, but with the help of my mom were were able to accomplish everything I had imagined for Brody's room. She also made the curtains...she says I helped but I don't sew...all I did was watch and give my opinion. Aren't they great? I just love them and think they make the room!

With the arrival of Brody that also means the end of the school year. I am very excited about the summer, but I will have to wait until some time in July to get into the pool due to the impending arrival of Brody in June. Our community pool opened on May 2nd, however, there has been so much rain here that I have not had a chance to go. I'd really love to go spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon by the pool reading a book...I think it might be too cold at this point to get in the water :)

My mom and mother-in-law hosted a shower for me at Neiman Marcus' Neiman's Cafe and it was Great! Here are a few pictures from the day...Thanks mom and Kathleen for a special day.

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to since Spring Break! There is one picture of Lucy be a lazy dog during Spring Break...wait she does this every day! I have also had 2 showers in the past since Spring Break, one in College Station and one in Paris (Texas that is). The cute baby cake was made by Jay's cousins for the shower in C.S. and it was YUM-O! Thanks girls and thanks to all who have showered us and Baby Brody with Love!

Weekend at Mimi & Papa's

I am a little late on this post, but a couple of weekends ago I went home to Paris to see my grandmother for her 88th Birthday-Little did I know it would be a weekend filled helping my mom take care of all 3 grand kids...Coleman, Lilly, and Ryan. I think I was more tired than Mimi & Papa! Everyone had a great time and I can only imagine what it will be like when we throw the 2 new babies into the mix. My brother Michael and his wife Jill are expecting Baby Murphy # 2 in April. We do not know the gender yet & everyone is counting down the days till the baby arrives so we will know if we should buy Pink or Blue! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!

I am so excited because we finally got all of Brody's furniture in and his bedding finally arrived! Of course the bedding I picked out was not going to be released until 2009 (I found this bedding in November) so I have been waiting so long for it! I LOVE it and it is everything I had hoped it would be. The room is still not quite finished yet, but hopefully when I am on Spring Break (3 weeks YEA!) I will have time to get things in order. Snow...I mean Ice Day!

We got iced in today! The ice started at about 8pm last night and continued till about 3am! At first we were only supposed to be delayed for 2 hours, but then at about 8am they called and said stay home today! I went back to bed and slept till 11am! I don't even sleep that late on Saturdays. Now all the ice is melted...oh well! Now that we have had two ice days we will probably be going to school the first week of June! Normally that would be fine with me, but I'll be about 40 weeks and not sure if I'll make it that long! I guess we will just have to play the waiting game to see what happens. Here are some picture I took this morning before the ice melted! Lucy and I have been sitting around all day staying nice and warm. For Christmas my mother-in-law made me this beautiful quilt (it is very cozy and I have been wrapped up in it all day)! It is made of my t-shirts I kept from the good ole college days! I had to include a picture of it because it is so awesome that she made it from t-shirts! Go Red Raiders!

I have been told by many to create a blog because it is easy to keep up with everyone that way. Here it is my very first blog, however, I'm not sure how great I'll be at it. My guess is I'll be very excited at first and then we will just have to wait and see what happens!
